To Lyon with love…
This New Moon in Gemini was spent in the city that people claim Paris is…Lyon. WAIT, before you come with pitchforks ready to fight, hear me out.
Paris, as Simon* noted is the New York of France. New York is not representative of the United States, and how people say, “That’s just New York!” the same can be said for Paris. Both cities are not for the weak, and other than being born there, the only thing that keeps people coming is the romanticized dream of what it means to live and be in either city. The only skills that keep you afloat are innate or [expeditiously] learned – perseverance, determination, and an active hardworking mentality. (New York is more aligned with Marseille as having grit and occasional moments of grime are par the course…BUT I will talk about that another time.)
Now, Lyon? Yeah, as Cancer Sun and Mercury, an Aries Rising and Saturn, and a Capricorn Moon, Midheaven, Jupiter, and Uranus, Lyon is that one. For the last year they’ve had the planet of blessings, abundance, expansion, and adventure in their 4th house probing it’s natal Sun and IC, which also emanates energy through Capricorn. This placement gave Lyon an easy footing that one without such a complementary polarity would receive. As an Aries rising, and I say this for most Aries risings, the problems they have are often self-induced tantrums because they don’t want to admit, in a very dystopian world, that they’re life isn’t that bad. And maybe, just maybe, they could be their own problem.
That’s why Lyon will sort of win over the next few years in comparison to Paris. They’re not on a mission to be the capital, because they know they shine in other ways. Their waterway is beautiful, easily accessible for all to use, and well-maintained. Their Libra in the 7th house with Mars requires fairness, justice, and diplomacy in all relationships, contracts, business negotiations and networks. Your inability to perform at the level will be an easy ending of a chapter thanks to Sun and Mercury in Cancer and Moon in Capricorn, “Let’s make this brief. This isn’t what we agreed upon, and if we continue all parties will be greatly disappointed for not having cut ties earlier. Here’s how I figured to fairly separate assets, based on our individual contributions, and move forward.”
And before all the Capricorns say, “I found my city!”… CALMEZ-VOUS! Yes, you have a high probability of the success you seek, but you all don’t understand hard stops for work. With all that energy in Capricorn feeding your core, even if you end up in the hospital from burnout, you won’t necessarily stop. You’ll just find a way to pause right before the burnout happens next time.
So, if you’re a real businessperson, not of the blurred lines league (that’s saved for Paris and Marseille), and Lyon has been on your mind for opening something, moving, or expanding, take a look before deluding yourself that a fantasy for most is your dream.
“Well, Paris has art and is known for its beauty,” you say? Honey, Lyon’s Venus is in Taurus in the 2nd house. With so much Cardinal, natural born leader energy, it will take the excessive materialism of Taurus, its need for real gourmand, poor spending habits, and refine its childlike whimsies to a royal ready to take their place at court, with the adults.
Whatever, is it really worth it?
Well, you’re still reading and no one is forcing you to, so you must be intrigued. Lyon is going through their Saturn’s return currently, and for anyone whose come through the other side a new person can vouch for the levels of ascension that occur during a return. Especially those who prepped by knowing their chart, able to know the sequence of events over the next few years isn’t punishment, but serial exams with occasional retakes for a higher grade. If played like they have more to gain than lose, there’s going to be a new city of love…one that’s evolved, mature, and isn’t afraid to be a public sub.
PLUS, for those who love last minute getaways! In less than two hours by train you’ll be in Paris, Geneva, or Marseille. Less than five hours to Barcelona, Milan, or Nice. And less than six hours for London or Amsterdam.
And French Government, if you’re reading this, higher me as a consultant. There are many cities within you, that need a bit more money in their tourism budget. Paris doesn’t. Stop allocating the increase!
